At Distilling Science, we write about research that is both interesting and impactful. Naturally, this leads us to discuss topics that are subject to contentious debate in the political realm.
That said, we strive to leave the debate as an exercise to the reader.
As strongly as we believe in what we do, we understand that science has an ugly side. Researchers occasionally step over moral boundaries and break the rules in the name of progress. Nevertheless, it is necessary for us to understand and acknowledge this aspect of our field in order to prevent our society from devolving into an episode of Black Mirror.
We will do our best to present you with all sides of current research – the good, the bad, and the ugly. We will not shy away from our enthusiasm for research, but our articles will never tell you what to think. Instead, we’ll stick to the facts, give you our perspective, and let you make up your mind for yourself.
